The sin of pride has a way of...you know...killing you!

One of the scriptures I was reading this morning was Isaiah 5:21 - "Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and clever in their own sight!"  For myself, most of the sin I am tempted, or struggle with is a form of pride.  The flesh rears its ugly head saying "I like this or I like that.  I have to remind myself that I can do nothing, or can know anything apart from the Holy Spirit.

The Lord sure has been merciful to me.  I deserve nothing but wrath.  That's why God's grace is so amazing.  Here is an example of His love for us.

The Holy God created me.  In my birth I was God hating.  As I grew I never sought God, He would seek me.  I blasphemed God with my sin.  I belittled God with my wickedness and gave this flesh the glory that only He deserves.  In seeing there is no hope for me without His mercy...He sent His Only Son.  He put the curse of sin that WE ALL have upon Him.  He then crushed, and killed The very One He loved as He turned His back on Him, because of our sin.  He raised Him from the dead.  By doing so Christ gave us, as wicked beings a right standing before a Holy God.  Only if we believe upon His Holy Name.

You see, this is why I NEVER trust my flesh.  It leads to sin every single time.  This is why my wisdom and trust in myself is foolishness.  I pray that I am led by the Spirit.

Praise God for his good news.
